Public bodies and public-sector suppliers
Public Sector AI Risk and Readiness Sprint
Make your AI decisions easier to explain, govern and defend.
Move from AI experimentation to governed deployment with an owned risk register, clear decision rights and evidence for your next procurement, pilot or service review.
£6,200 + VAT · fixed scope
Two weeks · up to five AI systems or use cases · one organisation or business unit · remote delivery.
Turn the government toolkit into working governance
AI can spread faster than the controls around it. A pilot becomes routine, a supplier changes a model, or an agent gains access to another system. Leaders still need to know who owns the decision and which risks remain unresolved.
We put the DSIT AI Risk Management Toolkit into practice through workshops, completed records and a prioritised action plan. This is implementation of a governance baseline, not simply a policy review.
A useful fit when you need to
- Move an AI pilot towards wider use without losing accountability.
- Respond to procurement or assurance questions with evidence rather than general promises.
- Understand staff tools, agents and unapproved AI use within a defined business unit.
- Prepare a clear explanation of how AI affects public-service decisions.
What you leave with
- AI system and agent inventory. Purpose, owners, suppliers, data flows, lifecycle status, integrations and agent permissions for the agreed scope.
- Risk appetite and governance roles. A facilitated workshop, escalation thresholds and a RACI showing who is responsible, accountable, consulted and informed.
- Completed risk register and treatment plan. Material risks, evidence gaps and prioritised immediate and 30/60/90-day actions with owners and due dates.
- Monitoring dashboard and review cadence. Measures, review owners and reassessment triggers for changes, incidents and emerging risks.
- Framework crosswalk. High-level alignment to DSIT, ISO/IEC 42001 and NIST AI RMF, plus relevant EU AI Act applicability flags.
- Public-sector evidence pack. One priority transparency-record draft, one procurement evidence pack and a decision brief separating supported findings from unresolved questions.
Evidence shaped to your role
For public bodies
Clarify approval responsibilities, human oversight, challenge routes, transparency and the evidence needed for your next service decision. Your organisation retains deployment and publication authority.
For suppliers
Prepare a reusable assurance summary and evidence index for one target buyer or procurement context. Show what your product evidence supports and which responsibilities remain with the deploying body.
We check whether the Algorithmic Transparency Recording Standard or another local transparency route applies. ATRS is not automatically mandatory for every public body. Publication and exemption decisions remain with the responsible organisation.
Clear scope and one consistent price
£6,200 + VAT combines the £4,950 core Sprint and £1,250 public-sector evidence pack. It includes a 90-minute discovery session, a two-hour risk-appetite workshop, up to six named stakeholders and a leadership readout with editable outputs.
The evidence pack covers one priority transparency draft, one procurement pack and one factual review round. The two-week timetable starts once evidence access, scope and participants are confirmed.
Not included: certification, legal advice, full impact assessments, technical testing or remediation, bid writing, contract negotiation or guaranteed procurement success. Wider scopes are agreed in writing before work begins.
Questions before you start
Does this certify our AI or guarantee compliance?
No. It establishes a practical evidence baseline and identifies further work. The framework crosswalk is not certification or a legal opinion.
Does it include agents and shadow AI?
Yes, within the agreed scope. We review tool use, permissions, integrations and oversight through interviews and available records. This is not covert monitoring or a comprehensive technical scan.
What happens after the Sprint?
Your owners take forward the treatment plan and review schedule. An optional quarterly governance reassessment is £950 + VAT per review for an unchanged core scope. Continuous monitoring and specialist work are not included.
Bring us the decision you need to make
Use a 30-minute scoping call to agree your priority systems, stakeholders and evidence deadline. Please describe your use cases without sending personal or confidential service-user data.
Measure the value of each AI use
For each scoped use case, the Sprint prepares a compact benefits record: baseline effort or error rate, expected benefit, accountable owner, measurement date and stop-or-scale criteria. The two-week engagement establishes a way to measure results after implementation; immediate financial returns are not promised.
